Dulce's Sophia

Description

Dulce’s Sophia is the true Grand Dam of our farm and a cornerstone of our breeding program. Born right here in 2007, Sophia is a striking multi-colored suri female whose presence and elegance have always set her apart. Her exceptional quality was evident early on, and in 2009 we made the bold decision to offer her in the Spring Celebration Sale—our very first step into a major national llama auction. At a time when llama prices were beginning to soften during the Great Recession, Sophia proved just how special she was by becoming the high seller of the sale at $11,500. She was purchased by Dan & Marilyn Milton, who went on to have tremendous success showing her. Under their care, Sophia earned multiple Grand Championships and ultimately a National Championship, cementing her status as an elite suri female. In 2018, at 11 years old, we were thrilled to welcome Sophia back home to Tennessee. Since returning, she has continued to leave her mark on our farm, producing two beautiful crias. Her final cria, WRLF Sandstone’s Cassandra, went on to sell for $6,500 at the Llama Pickin’ Sale—an appropriate capstone to an extraordinary production career. Sophia’s legacy lives on through her offspring and descendants, and we are proud to have her influence woven so deeply into the foundation of our herd.
