Check out this year's crop of baby llamas called "crias".
Aurora is a large white silky female with light blush cheeks. She was the last cria out of perhaps our best female on the farm, BAL Ursula . We wanted a large female with beautiful fiber to continue one of the Berry Acre bloodlines on our farm. Her sire was Dutch Flat Rolling Stone which is out of the outcross genetics of Chileno Canaletto #136. Her first cria was a handsome male out of MGF San Maarten. His name is WRLF Aramis and he has suri white fiber with silver highlights and a silver face. We kept him on the farm as one of our gelding hiking llamas. Aurora has produced several crias on our farm. She is the heaviest milker we have and will accept any orphan cria.
Blondell is a very feminine medium size suri llama out of the breeding program of Superior Farms in Oklahoma. We purchased her from Northwind Farm in Michigan in September 2015. We chose her because of her feminine style and her great pedigree combinations of some of our favorite bloodlines. Her sire side of the pedigree comes out of the great Canadian line of Bolivian Easy Money. Her dam side is a great combination of a female that we always liked called Ginger Snap Brown from Dixie Doodle Farm and Viva Las Vegas which is a son of the great Keno. She is prolific breeder, heavy milk producer, and good mother.
When we purchased Blue Hills Sylvia in 2015, she was bred to Silver Moon Deal Me In, a Peruvian Alcoa son. Cupie Dots was born as a super suri appaloosa. She was sweet as soon as she was born. We kept her on the farm because she was the farm greeter and the new genetics she brought to our breeding program. She had a male cria in 2019 and continues to be in our breeding program.
Every farm has that independent llama who don't want to interact with people. Della Rose is that llama at Walnut Ridge Farm. We just let her be a llama. She has some outlying genetics to bring to our farm breeding program including Berry Acres and Canadian bloodlines. Della Rose had a very sweet female cria born this fall 2019 that looks just like her mother. She will continue in our breeding program.
Izadora who we call “Izzy” is in my opinion the most beautiful llama at Walnut Ridge Farm. She is out of the excellent breeding program of Chris & Venesa Carter of CriVen Llamas. Izzy placed first in the coveted 2015 March Llama Madness Futurity and Sale. We purchased her and couldn’t wait to bring her home and into the show ring. Izzy is a tall, big bodied, big boned, white & silver suri. She has the best fiber on the farm with full body coverage and great bangs. Her sire is a two-time Grand Champion at the Celebrity Celebration in Oklahoma City and her dam is the 2005 LFA suri female Grand Champion.
Jasmine is a beautiful black and white densely covered suri female out of Phantom and WRLF Selene. Her dam was one of two females that I have left from one of our favorite herdsires, Cornucopia who passed away a few years ago. Selene also passed away awhile back due to a farm accident. Jasmine is a solid built little female with large bone and feet. Her fiber is so lusterous and dense for a suri with beautiful bangs and fiber down between her toes. She has an excellent show record being the only llama at Walnut Ridge Farm to earn two BEST IN SHOWs before she turned two years old. She has had two beautiful male crias and is a very protective mother.
Kishamee is a very tall light red silky llama with a long neck. She has great genetics with lines from Medicine River Suris in Canada and Kinnickinnick. We are just now putting her into our breeding program and look forward to what she will produce.
Lindy is the oldest llama at Walnut Ridge Farm. She is a known daughter of DDL Dream Catcher. She has been an amazing producer for years. We kept one of her daughters to be in our breeding program. Lindy had a Christmas Day 2018 tryst with a young male who got in with her. She became pregnant and had a sweet little boy around Christmas of this year. Lindy was 20 years old. Mother & cria doing well!
Noir is one of the Pearson Pond Ranch girls that we were lucky enough to get from Tracy Pearson's herd. She is out of two great bloodlines. Her sire is a MGF Hi Five son and her dam is Aloha Night Sprite, a Merit daughter. We look forward to what she will produce in our breeding program.
We purchased Raja several years ago in a herd we acquired. Susan Johns saw her and immediately started talking me in to buying her. We sold her and a few weeks later, Raja earn a Best In Show. We acquired her back recently when Susan dispersed her llama herd. Raja has Canadian genetics on both sides of her pedigree. We have added her to our breeding program.
Sylvia is a gorgeous dilute cream appy out of the awesome Blue Hills breeding pro)Kantu P5, and Papa Noel. Sylvia has a very lusterous locked suri fiber that has hints of appy dots throughout her body. She has produced four females (3 appies) since arriving at WRLF. Great milker & mom!
This is another over six foot suri female that we added to our herd from Northwind Farm. Tropicana has a very deep reddish auburn coloration that drapes in suri locks across her very large frame. She hails from PKS Farm out of Mississippi who bred Viva Las Vegas to a Tomallas Tacoma female to produce this awesome girl. Tropicana has the Keno bloodlines that we covet in our breeding program. Tropicana continues to be a great producer on our farm.
We are very particular on which llamas born on the farm that we keep. Ariel is one of those no brainer keeper crias. We have been looking for an Aurora female to keep and continue the BAL Ursula bloodline on the farm. Ariel is very large for her age getting her size from MSF Blizzard. She is actually the spitting image of Blizzard. We will continue to show her until she goes into our breeding program. She is only one year old in the current photo.
Athena is one of the Phantom daughters that we decided to keep. She is straight out of the Berry Acres breeding program on her dam side back to BAL Epic & BAL Ursula. She has the beautiful pitch black and white paint colorations from her sire, Phantom.
**Confirmed Bred to Platinum for a Spring 2020 Cria
Bella is the last daughter of Windshire's Thunderous Applause that we have on the farm. She is a very feminine white silky female. Her dam was Kay C which was one of the best show llamas that we have ever had on the farm. We sold Bella when she was a cria to Susan Johns and purchased her back when the Johns dispersed their herd. We are just now putting her into our breeding program.
Black Orchid is one of the Pearson Pond Ranch girls that we were lucky enough to get from Tracy Pearson's herd. Black Orchid has great genetics in her background including Merit, Bolivian Starmaker, & Santiki. She is a multiple Best in Show llama with awesome presence & beautiful black suri fiber. She has produced some quality crias including our new herdsire, PPR Wolfgang. We purchased her at 13 years old and look forward to adding her to our breeding program.
Saniya, which means “dazzling” and “brilliant” in Greek, was our best suri fiber female cria of 2015. Her brilliant white fiber just drips with ringlets on her entire body. Saniya has a whimsical face with curly bangs that fall across her eyes. She is out of our appaloosa male, Camo Man and one of our most feminine females, K-D Sabrina. She is the spitting image of her grandsire on her mom’s side. Saniya is very sweet and comes up to greet you when you enter the feeding area. She is just starting her breeding career.
Sheworthy is one of the Pearson Pond Ranch girls that we were lucky enough to get from Tracy Pearson's herd. She is a Purple Tiger daughter with bloodlines back to Merit. Her mother is a Chileno Cheri Chico daughter. Together they produced a large taupe colored female with silky fiber. We have just added her to our breeding program and look forward to the crias she will produce.
Skye is a striking young llama out of Phantom. She has the black/black & white signature look that Phantom produces. What gorgeous white bangs she has across a white face. Her mother is part of my Berry Acres line. She is not going to be a very large llama, but we are going to keep her for our breeding program.
WRLF Ying Yang was the perfect example of a good accidental breeding. We were keeping a herdsire of a friend and he saw our BAL Sweet Temptation and couldn’t resist her temptation, so he jumped the fence. The rest is history! Ying Yang has a great pedigree on both sides. Her sire comes out of the fiber-rich Canadian lines of Peruvian K-TU and her dam lines come from Silver Peru & Berry Acres. She is a great producer on our farm with several crias to her credit.
2009 NATIONAL CHAMPION
Sophia was born on our farm in 2007. We took her to Celebrity Sales in 2009 and sold her at auction for $11,500. That was the most we had every sold a llama for. Her new owners showed her extensively garnering several Best in Shows and eventually earning the 2009 National Championship for Suri Female. She was sold two more times before we were able to bring her back to Tennessee thanks to Susan Johns. She will stay in our breeding program till she retires.
Sphinx is out of the Pearson Pond Ranch herd. She is the largest female we have on the farm. Sphinx has powerhouse bloodlines on both sides, her sire being MGF Don Diago and her dam coming out of PKS Cleopatra & PPR LIttle Egypt. Sphinx has produced some excellent crias on our farm and will continue to be an important part of our breeding program.
We were thrilled to be able to purchase Whisper from Susan Johns as she dispersed her llama herd. Whisper is out of the National Champion, KVF Timone"s Pride. She is a very large but sweet female. Her first cria was a knockout little male. We look forward to seeing what she brings to our breeding program in the future.
A picture is all you need with Wyllow. She is one of the females we got from Tracy Pearson's herd. She may well be the best female we have ever had on our farm. She has never been shown. She is the daughter of MGF Don Diago and the granddaughter of Tracy's favorite male, Dough Boy. We bred her to Sandstone for a Fall 2020 cria.
Contessa is a Phantom daughter that we tried to sell, but just could not let go. In addition to having the Phantom line, she is out of MSF Tesla which is a National Champion, GNLC Full Tilt, daughter. She is one of the most striking females that we have on the farm with her super white suri fiber, black face & tail, with gorgeous white bangs. She is currently in a show string for 2020.
Cosmic Cutie is one of the Pearson Pond Ranch girls that we were lucky enough to get from Tracy Pearson's herd. She is out of Purple Tiger which goes back to Aloha Night Sprite and Merit. She is a beautiful balck & white suri with very large bone. When we were at PPR choosing llamas, she kept following us around saying "pick me". We couldn't resist and brought her to WRLF. We have just put her in our breeding program.
ILR: #290353
Date of Birth: May 15, 2016
Fiber Type: Suri
You want to talk about color. Zharina is the most patchwork colorful paint llama we have on the farm. She was so striking at the MLM auction that we had to keep holding up our hands. She comes from one of the top females on the Ollendick Farm, FFF Carina (Canoso daughter). Zharina is over 6 feet tall and just had her first cria. She is an excellent mother and milker.
*EXPOSED TO SANDSTONE FOR A FALL 2020 CRIA*
Jayna is a beautiful tri-color paint female suri that was born on the farm. She is one of the Phantom daughters we decided to keep and she is out of our long time producer, Lindy (Dream Catcher daughter). Lindy is now 20+ years old, so Jayna is her farm replacement in our breeding program. Jayna just had her first cria born in October and he is already sold. Jayna is a great first time mother with lots of milk.
Calico is a big solid female out of Camo Man & PPR Sphinx. She is a beautiful suri/paint with a nice collection of colors. She is one of the females we decided to keep out of Camo Man before he was sold. We look forward to "Callie" entering our breeding program.
