Llama Farm Grand Opening

Come Meet the Llamas at Walnut Ridge Llama Farm

Group tour

What happens when you combine beautiful East Tennessee mountains, 26 peaceful acres, a herd of curious llamas, and a family that has spent decades loving these remarkable animals? You get Walnut Ridge Llama Farm—“The Llama Farm” to locals—and you’re invited to come see what makes it so special.

Just outside Greeneville on Quillen Shell Road, Jerry and Carolyn Ayers have created a place where visitors can slow down, breathe in the country air, and get up close with llamas. The farm’s breathtaking mountain views are only part of the experience. You might find yourself meeting a baby llama, taking a ride on the “Llamazine” hay wagon, watching beautiful llama fiber being spun, or simply standing beside one of these gentle, fascinating animals. It’s the kind of experience that tends to stay with you long after you leave.

And there’s no better time to discover Walnut Ridge Llama Farm than during its Grand Opening on Saturday, September 19, from 11:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Admission is free, and the whole family is welcome. Enjoy light concessions, a remote broadcast by Radio Greeneville, hay-wagon rides, spinning demonstrations, and the chance to meet and pet the farm’s baby llamas.

Bring your camera—you’re going to find plenty of moments worth remembering. After the Grand Opening Day, Walnut Ridge Llama Farm will offer guided farm tours, birthday parties, family reunions, school and church field trips, and spinning and weaving classes. Whether you’re looking for a fun family outing, an unusual place to celebrate, an educational experience, or simply a chance to do something different, there’s something here waiting to be discovered. And once you meet the llamas, you may understand why so many people become fascinated with them.

For Jerry and Carolyn, this farm is about much more than llamas. After more than 46 years of marriage and decades of raising these animals together, they’ve created a place that reflects a shared passion and a lifelong dream. Walnut Ridge Llama Farm is an invitation to slow down, enjoy the beauty of East Tennessee, meet some unforgettable animals, and make memories together. Come to the grand opening and see for yourself—you may arrive simply curious about llamas and leave wondering when you can come back.
