“Dobby” is our super-heavy wool, half-Argentine gelded male and the official new Ambassador to every visitor arriving at Walnut Ridge Farm. From the moment guests step onto the property, Dobby is often the first friendly face they meet — and he takes that role very seriously. We first met Dobby when we purchased his lovely mother, WOL Chiri Angel. By her side stood the cutest little cria, full of curiosity and charm. It didn’t take long for us to realize he was something special. Though his stature hasn’t grown especially tall — thanks to his strong Argentine bloodlines — what he may lack in height he more than makes up for in presence. His fiber has developed into a deep, dense, luxurious coat, showcasing the beautiful characteristics of his heritage. And then there are those feet! With his substantial bone and oversized “bear paw” feet, Dobby has a sturdy, grounded look that perfectly complements his woolly frame. But what truly makes Dobby unforgettable is his personality. Out in the open pastures, you can walk right up and give him a big hug — and chances are, he’ll return the affection with one of his famous llama kisses. His calm, approachable nature makes him a favorite during our Agri-tourism events, where he patiently greets guests of all ages. Dobby isn’t just a llama — he’s a greeter, a hugger, and a gentle soul who represents the warm, welcoming spirit of Walnut Ridge Farm every single day. 🧡
