WRLF Kiko "Surfer Dude"

Description

Kiko, affectionately known as “Surfer Dude,” has truly grown into his name. With his cool long bangs and relaxed personality, he’s a standout both in size and style. Standing approximately 6'5" tall and weighing around 350 pounds, Kiko is a very large gelded male — and a perfect reminder not to judge future size based on a young male llama’s early growth. When we sold him in May 2022 (unregistered) at just 7 months old to a doctor and his wife near Charlotte, North Carolina, he was actually the smallest of the four boys in his group. In fall 2025, we reacquired all four males after their previous owners sold their farm and relocated to Florida. By then, Kiko had far outgrown the others and matured into the impressive presence he is today. Surfer Dude’s fiber is a beautifully curly suri type in a sandy cream color, complemented by a dilute red head. And of course — those bangs are absolutely to die for. When Kiko first returned to us, he was somewhat spitty and aloof. However, after gelding and consistent handling, he has settled down tremendously. He now walks alongside you unhaltered and can be haltered easily in the pasture. He serves as a steady walking companion and acts as an excellent guard for mothers and crias. Kiko has truly become a valued addition to our farm — not only for his impressive stature and beautiful fiber, but for his dependable nature and calm presence. Surfer Dude proves that patience, proper handling, and time can make all the difference when working with llamas.
